The second phase of the West Bengal Assembly budget session will begin on March 10, as confirmed by Speaker Biman Banerjee after the Business Advisory Committee meeting. Due to Ramadan, daily proceedings will conclude before 4 PM to accommodate fasting legislators. Key financial bills and budget-related discussions will be tabled during this session, with debates expected on economic policies, welfare programs, and state expenditures. Opposition parties, including the BJP and Left, are set to raise questions on governance and budget allocations.
Banerjee also stated that the Assembly is "not a place for showmanship" and warned of disciplinary action against disruptions. Addressing BJP Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari, he remarked, “No matter how big a leader Amit Shah has made him, violations will lead to suspension.”
